Bala Mohammed Warns Opposition Against Federal Reliance

On Monday, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, warned opposition politicians against depending on federal backing to secure electoral victories, asserting that the era of political imposition in Nigeria has ended. After casting his ballot at Model Central Primary School in Alkaleri Local Government Area during the state local government elections, he pointed to recent electoral outcomes, particularly the Osun State governorship election, as evidence that federal influence no longer guarantees electoral success.

Mohammed criticized the decision of some opposition parties to boycott the council polls, suggesting it was a tactical error. He advised them to test their popularity with voters instead of waiting for federal assistance.

He cited the Osun election, where incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke won, as proof that voters now have significant power in determining electoral outcomes. Mohammed reaffirmed his commitment to conducting an open and credible electoral process in Bauchi State.
