Kwara Community Appeals to Tinubu Amid Bandit Attacks

The leader of the Lata Nna community in Kwara State, Lata Nna, has written an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, expressing urgent concerns as 95% of the community's residents have fled due to ongoing bandit attacks. The letter, signed by Tauhe Desco on behalf of the Lata Nna Youth Association, highlights the dire situation where residents have faced repeated kidnappings, armed robberies, and extortion over the past two years.

The community has suffered significant losses, including the death of farmer Allassan Ndaba on April 15 and the brutal attacks on June 13 and June 26, which left residents traumatized and cut off from essential services. The letter emphasizes the need for immediate deployment of security personnel and military operations to combat the bandits, who are reportedly armed with sophisticated weapons.

The community's appeal comes amid a broader trend of increasing insecurity in the region, with residents fearing for their lives and livelihoods.
