Troops Prevent School Abduction in Kogi State

Troops from the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army successfully thwarted a planned abduction of school children at Iluk Primary School in Kogi State. The operation was initiated following credible intelligence that alerted the troops to suspicious activities in the Iluk Community.

Reportedly, members of a terrorist group were disguised in military uniforms and had already assembled at the school to execute their abduction plan. Upon receiving the alert, Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi and his team swiftly mobilized to the area, engaging the criminals and forcing them to abandon their mission.

During the encounter, some terrorists were neutralized, while others fled the scene, sustaining injuries from gunfire. Fortunately, the intervention of the troops prevented a large-scale abduction of school children, highlighting the vulnerability of educational institutions in conflict-sensitive environments.

The 12 Brigade is currently pursuing the fleeing terrorists and coordinating security efforts in neighboring areas, including Kwara and parts of Niger State, and encourages the public to provide credible information to assist in ongoing security operations.
