Bandits Kill Two Farmers in Zamfara Community Attack

On Monday morning, armed bandits invaded Faru town in the Maradun local government area of Zamfara State, resulting in the deaths of two farmers, Basharu Hakimi Yarbangi and Mallam Samaila Faru. A resident, speaking anonymously, reported that the attackers arrived while farmers were heading to their fields and began firing shots into the air.

The situation in the area has become critical, with residents stating that attacks have become almost daily occurrences. The resident highlighted that several communities in Maradun LGA are under the influence of bandits operating from the Bayan Ruwa forest, affecting towns such as Magamin Diddi, Kaya, Janbako, Gidan Goga, and Faru.

There is a pressing need for more security personnel to restore peace and protect farming communities, especially with the harvest season approaching. Zamfara State continues to struggle with banditry and kidnapping, particularly in rural areas bordering forests that serve as hideouts for armed groups.
