BASIEC Distributes Election Materials for Bauchi Polls

The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) commenced the distribution of election materials on Saturday for the upcoming Local Government Area Council elections set for Monday. Chairperson Hajiya Jummai Abubakar announced that logistics for the distribution had been finalized, with vehicles prepared to transport materials to all 20 Local Government Areas.

She confirmed that both sensitive and non-sensitive materials, including ballot papers and ballot boxes, are being dispatched under security escort. Abubakar expressed her hope for a peaceful election process and emphasized the commission's commitment to conducting credible, free, and fair elections.

She encouraged eligible voters to participate in the voting process, which will occur from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Khalid Arewa, Secretary of the Inter-Party Advisory Council in the state, expressed confidence in the election process, noting that 15 out of 22 registered political parties would participate.

He urged voters to cast their votes for their preferred candidates.
