Bauchi Police Enhance Security for Upcoming LG Elections

The Bauchi State Police Command has intensified security across the state in preparation for the Local Government Council elections set for August 17, 2026. Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu, comprehensive security arrangements have been established to ensure a peaceful and credible election across the 20 local government areas.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Nafiu Habib announced that personnel have been strategically deployed to reinforce security and protect lives, property, and electoral materials. The command has issued warnings against electoral violence, ballot box snatching, thuggery, vote buying, and intimidation, stating that violators will face legal consequences.

Aliyu assured that security personnel would operate with professionalism, neutrality, and respect for human rights. The command encourages residents to participate in the elections without fear and to report any suspicious activities to the police.
