Bauchi Assembly Majority Leader Resigns for LG Election

Saleh Hodi, the Majority Leader of the Bauchi State House of Assembly and lawmaker representing Disina Constituency, has resigned to contest the upcoming Shira Local Government chairmanship election. His resignation was formally announced by the Speaker of the House, Abubakar Sulaiman, during a plenary session on Wednesday.

Hodi's decision to resign follows his nomination by the Allied People’s Movement as its candidate for the chairmanship election. In his farewell remarks, Hodi expressed gratitude to the Speaker, House members, and the people of Disina Constituency for their support throughout his tenure.

He emphasized his commitment to work hard if elected as chairman. Following Hodi's resignation, the Speaker informed the House that Auwal Yana has been nominated as the new Majority Leader.

Sulaiman praised Hodi for his contributions and described their relationship as akin to family. Other lawmakers also commended Hodi for his dedication and wished him success in the upcoming election.
