Bauchi FA Mourns NFRA President Alhaji Sani Zubairu

The Bauchi State Football Association expressed deep sorrow following the death of Alhaji Sani Zubairu, the President of the Nigeria Football Referees Association, on Tuesday morning. In a statement released shortly after the news broke, the association's chairman, Patrick Pascal, described Zubairu as a towering figure in Nigerian football and a mentor to countless referees across the country.

Pascal highlighted Zubairu's respect within FIFA and his dedication to the growth and development of referees in Bauchi State and nationwide. He emphasized Zubairu's pivotal role in nurturing young talent who have gone on to officiate at top-level competitions.

Pascal noted that Zubairu's death is a significant loss not only for Bauchi State but for Nigerian football as a whole. He further acknowledged Zubairu's commitment to professionalism and integrity, stating that he upheld the highest standards in the game.

The association plans to honor Zubairu's legacy by continuing efforts to develop grassroots referees in line with his vision. Funeral arrangements are expected to take place on Tuesday at 4 PM in accordance with Islamic rites.
