Bayelsa Athletics Chairman Oredipe Unveils Plans for Grassroots Athlete Development

Oredipe, the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Athletics Association, has unveiled plans to deepen grassroots athlete development in Bayelsa State by expanding talent discovery and creating competitive platforms. With a focus on nurturing local talent, Oredipe aims to sustain collaborations with coaches and institutions, including the Bayelsa State Sport Council.

His efforts have led to improved performances by Bayelsa athletes in national track and field competitions. Oredipe, who previously served as the Vice Chairman of the association, has been instrumental in discovering and nurturing young track and field athletes through initiatives like the Samkai Athletics Club in Yenagoa.

His appointment was confirmed in a letter dated January 19 by the Director of Sports at the Bayelsa State Sport Council, Andrew Ay, who emphasized the need for Oredipe to continue the collaborative efforts to drive further progress in sports development in the state.
