Bayelsa NDC Urges Diri to Focus on Governance

The Bayelsa State Chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged Governor Douye Diri to focus on governance rather than political maneuvering. During a press conference in Yenagoa, state chairman Dauprebo Ikuromo emphasized the need for an inclusive leadership approach that prioritizes the interests of Bayelsans.

Ikuromo cautioned against any attempts to entice NDC aspirants with financial incentives, which could create divisions within the party. He stated that the NDC is committed to addressing urgent development issues in the state, including the operational status of gas turbines.

Ikuromo also mentioned that the party's national executive council would soon release a list of candidates for various positions within the timeframe set by the Independent National Electoral Commission. He commended the leadership of Seriake Dickson for effectively managing the party's primary elections and recognized Dickson's commitment to inclusivity, particularly for youth and women in the political process.
