PDP Approves N20M Palace Project in Jonathan's Hometown

The Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved a N20 million palace project for the traditional ruler of Elebele Community in Ogbia Local Government Area. This initiative aims to consolidate support in the hometown of former President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2028 governorship election.

PDP State Chairman George Turnah announced the project on Sunday during a reception for Gabriel Claudius, a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, who recently defected to the PDP. Turnah stated that the palace was in a deplorable condition and emphasized the party's commitment to rewarding loyal communities.

He noted that construction would begin immediately, reflecting the PDP's dedication to development initiatives in Elebele, which has historically received little political recognition. Turnah assured that more initiatives would be unveiled as electioneering activities commence, while Great Joshua Maciver, a PDP leader, expressed confidence in the party's prospects for the upcoming election.
