Bayelsa PDP Chairman Prepares for 2028 Governorship Election

George Turnah, the Bayelsa State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declared the party's preparedness for the 2028 governorship election, asserting that it would not be intimidated by recent political changes in the state. This announcement was made on Sunday at Elebele Community in Ogbia Local Government Area during the reception of former All Progressives Congress chieftain Gabriel Claudius, known as the “One Million Man,” and his supporters into the PDP.

Turnah described Claudius’ return as a significant boost for grassroots mobilization and urged party members to begin preparations for the upcoming election. He stated that politics requires commitment and organization, emphasizing that victory is achieved through hard work.

Turnah dismissed claims that recent political developments would weaken the PDP, asserting that the party remains strong and strategically focused on key constituencies. He also encouraged the party’s House of Assembly candidate to maintain her momentum, citing the party's structure and experience as vital for future electoral success.
