Bayelsa State Commits to Infrastructure Funding with RAAMP

The Bayelsa State Government has pledged to meet its counterpart funding obligations for essential development projects, particularly in infrastructure, as stated by Deputy Governor Dr Peter Akpe during a courtesy visit from officials of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Programme (RAAMP) at the Government House in Yenagoa. Akpe reaffirmed the commitment of the Douye Diri-led administration to enhance road and bridge construction, aiming to improve connectivity across the state despite its challenging terrain.

He acknowledged the positive outcomes of strategic partnerships in executing development projects and emphasized the role of RAAMP in facilitating access to rural communities and boosting agricultural activities. Akpe urged RAAMP and other partners to consider the state's difficult terrain in their budgeting and project planning.

He assured that the government would address any outstanding criteria for the programme, including counterpart funding, and highlighted the administration's focus on building roads to link local government headquarters, thereby promoting agriculture and business.
