David Beckham Becomes UK's First Billionaire Sportsman

David Beckham has achieved the milestone of becoming Britain's first billionaire sportsman, with his wealth estimated at £1.185 billion according to the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List. Beckham, a former Manchester United and England star, ranks second among the UK's wealthiest sportspeople, following Bernie Ecclestone, the former Formula One chief executive, whose wealth is valued at £2 billion.

Beckham, who retired from playing in 2013, is a co-owner of Inter Miami, which is estimated to be Major League Soccer's most valuable club at £1.07 billion. At 51 years old, Beckham has lucrative brand ambassador roles with companies including Adidas and Hugo Boss.

His wife, Victoria Beckham, has also significantly contributed to their wealth through her fashion label. Other notable figures on the rich list include Lewis Hamilton, Rory McIlroy, Anthony Joshua, and Tyson Fury, with Hamilton being fifth at £435 million and Joshua eighth at £240 million.
