Tinubu's Aide Critiques Atiku Over Mambilla Project Issues

Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication to President Bola Tinubu, accused Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, of trying to divert attention from the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project. This accusation followed an International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration ruling on September 17, 2026, which rejected claims made by Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited against the Federal Government regarding the project in Taraba State.

In a post on 𝕏, Dare criticized Atiku's recent press conference, describing it as an attempt to distract the public from his past and the issues surrounding the Mambilla project. He alleged that the project was misused for private interests rather than national development.

Dare also questioned Atiku's economic policy interventions and his previous role as Vice Chairman of the Federal Executive Council, suggesting his past was marked by controversies and privatizations. He called for Atiku to address the Mambilla controversy directly.
