Akalaka MMA Fight Night in Abuja: Benard and Uduak Shine

The Akalaka Spirit Warrior mixed martial arts (MMA) fight night returned to Abuja on Saturday, featuring 16 fighters across various weight categories. Emmanuel Benard, known as the "Knockout Machine," won the best male fighter award after defeating Solomon in a unanimous decision over three rounds in the men's 61kg bantamweight bout.

Victoria Uduak was awarded the best female fighter after her technical knockout victory over Solomon Shettima in the women's 65kg featherweight division. Other notable fights included Nasirudeen Abdulkareem defeating Sundai Georg via TKO and Baliki Quadri securing victory against Cynthia Philip with a rear-naked choke.

Dr. Eber Benard, president of the Akalaka Spirit Warrior, emphasized the event's aim to promote youth development and discipline through MMA, while Idowu Olusareyo, CEO of Option International, commended the grassroots sport initiative.

The event marked the third MMA outing in Abuja, following previous successes, and aimed to provide exposure for emerging Nigerian MMA athletes.
