Benue Assembly Passes Four Key Infrastructure Bills

The Benue State House of Assembly successfully passed four key bills during a plenary session presided over by Speaker Alfr Emberga. These bills are designed to enhance infrastructure and strengthen resource management within the state.

One significant bill establishes the Benue State Electricity Power Management Agency (BESMA), which is expected to provide a structured system for better electricity management and distribution throughout the state. Another bill focuses on road traffic administration, incorporating provisions for traffic control and vehicle inspection measures aimed at improving road safety and enforcing proper vehicle standards.

Additionally, the assembly approved a bill to create the Benue State Forestry and Solid Mineral Management Commission, which will oversee the regulation and management of the state's natural resources. Lastly, the assembly passed a bill to establish the Benue State Road Maintenance Agency (BENROMA), expected to enhance road upkeep and drive infrastructure development across the state.

Speaker Emberga confirmed that all four bills met the necessary legislative requirements for passage.
