Benue State Cracks Down on Illegal Exam Fees and Miracle Centers in Schools

Benue State's Board of Education is taking a firm stance against illegal exam fees and miracle centers in schools. Dr.

Terna Francis, the Board's Secretary, emphasized the need for regulatory enforcement to root out these practices. The Board clarified that ongoing reforms and enforcement measures cover both public and private schools to ensure quality education.

They are strengthening collaboration between the Ministry of Education and state governments to enforce minimum standards in schools. Recent pushback from private school owners followed the Board's decision to address exorbitant and illegal charges, including unauthorized fees for exams.

The Board announced the introduction of an e-dossier system to eliminate miracle centers and enhance transparency in exam processes. This digital platform will replace manual records, allowing real-time assessment of exam scores and preventing student migration to evade exams.

The system will flag suspicious movements and ensure prompt release of exam results.
