Benue Governor Alia Condemns MACBAN Chairman's Killing

Hyacinth Alia expressed shock and sadness over the killing of Alhaji Ardo Risku, the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN). In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia described the attack as a tragic incident occurring at a critical time when Benue State was making significant progress in restoring peace and stability across several local government areas.

He stated that the killing was not just a tragedy but a deliberate attempt to undermine peace and reconciliation efforts by his administration. The governor directed relevant security agencies to launch a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the incident, urging them to leave no stone unturned in identifying and apprehending those responsible to ensure justice is served promptly.

He appealed to MACBAN members and the general public to remain calm and abide by the law, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace in the state. Governor Alia extended condolences to the family of Alhaji Ardo Risku and the entire MACBAN community.
