SGF Condemns Killing of MACBAN Chairman in Benue State

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Akum, condemned the killing of the MACBAN Chairman, Alhaji Ardo Risku, calling it a dastardly act and an unacceptable direct assault on peace and reconciliation efforts in Benue State. He expressed grave concern over the incident, particularly as it occurred during a time of encouraging improvements in security and gradual restoration of peace among the diverse ethnic, cultural, and religious communities in the state.

Akum urged the people of Benue State to reject any attempts by criminal elements to sow discord and hatred. He emphasized that no individual or group should take the law into their own hands.

The SGF extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and called on the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to thoroughly investigate the killing, ensuring that those responsible are arrested and prosecuted. He reiterated the commitment of President Bola Tinubu's administration to confront insecurity in all its forms across the country.
