Guma LG Chair Donates Vehicles to Enhance Security Efforts

On Monday, Maurice Orwough, the Chairman of Guma Local Government Area, donated 10 cars to district heads and 51 motorcycles to kindred heads to improve mobility for traditional rulers and enhance security in the area. He also allocated 40 motorcycles to security agencies to bolster the fight against insecurity, which he noted has decreased by approximately 80% since he took office, largely due to the support of Governor Hyacinth Alia.

During the ceremony held in Gbajimba, Orwough explained that 46 out of the 51 kindred heads would receive mobility vehicles to facilitate their duties. He mentioned that three motorcycles would be reserved until the vacant positions created by the deaths of traditional rulers are filled.

Additionally, six of the 10 district heads would receive vehicles initially, with the remaining four to be provided once substantive district heads are appointed. Orwough emphasized the necessity of this initiative, citing the poor road network in the council.

He also highlighted completed projects in eight wards, the sinking of boreholes, and the renovation of the council's secretariat, along with the approval for a battalion following the establishment of the Fifth Division.
