Ilorin South LG Chairman Podo Enhances Security Measures

Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, the Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Area in Kwara State, announced the introduction of additional security measures to address security challenges in the area. During the unveiling of his administration’s scorecard for its second year in office, Podo revealed that the council has employed 150 new security personnel, distributed 50 motorcycles for community surveillance, upgraded the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) outpost at Alagbado to a full division, and donated a Sienna bus for patrol operations.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for reforms that have increased funding for grassroots development. Podo's administration has executed various projects across the 11 wards, including educational renovations and support for students.

He received the 2025 Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award for distributing transformers and has also improved local infrastructure by drilling boreholes and grading rural roads. The unveiling event was attended by key officials including the vice chairman, council secretary, and speaker of the legislative arm.
