Kidnappers Demand N30m Ransom for Two Siblings in Benue

In Benue State, a driver and the corpse of an elderly woman were released by kidnappers after an abduction incident along the Otukpo-Ogobia road. The victims were part of a family traveling to Abuja for the burial of a late mother when their vehicle broke down and they were ambushed by armed men.

The kidnappers have retained two siblings and are demanding a ransom of N30 million for their release. Family members reported the incident to Idoma Voice, stating that the driver and the deceased woman's body were freed, while the two siblings remain in captivity.

The family is working tirelessly to raise the ransom and has urged security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the remaining victims. As of the time of reporting, the Benue State Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the incident, leaving the family in a state of mixed feelings—relieved by the recovery of the body but worried about the fate of the two siblings.
