Armed Men Kidnap Siblings Transporting Deceased in Benue

In a recent incident in Benue State, three siblings were abducted by heavily armed gunmen while traveling to their late mother's burial in Abuja. The attack took place early Saturday morning on the Ogobia-Otukpo road, an area that has become increasingly dangerous for travelers.

The siblings were part of a convoy transporting the corpse of their mother, who had passed away, when their vehicle broke down late Friday night. After fixing the vehicle, they were ambushed by the gunmen, who opened fire, causing panic among nearby residents.

The local government chairman, Gabriel Adol, confirmed the incident and stated that relevant security agencies are engaged to ensure the safe return of the abducted individuals. This incident has heightened fears among residents regarding the safety of the highway, which has seen a rise in attacks targeting mourners and travelers, prompting calls for increased security patrols.
