Armed Herdsmen Kill Four in Benue State Attacks

In Benue State, four individuals were killed, and several others, including children, were injured in separate attacks by suspected armed herdsmen across Ohimini and Ukum Local Government Areas between Friday and Saturday. The violence began on Friday night in Elulu community, where a young man was shot dead, and his motorcycle was stolen.

The assailants then attempted to rustle cattle in Agadagba community but were confronted by local youths, resulting in one youth sustaining a gunshot injury. The attackers returned to Agadagba on Saturday evening, killing two residents and injuring others.

Additional attacks occurred in Ochobo community, where four people were shot, and in Ogoli-Ugboju community, where two individuals, including a local ranch owner, were shot, and cattle were rustled. In a separate incident, a woman was killed, and her children were severely injured in Tse Gbemshin community.

The ongoing violence has caused widespread fear and displacement among residents.
