Three Killed in Attacks on Benue Communities Over Weekend

Between Friday and Saturday, three individuals were killed in attacks on communities in Benue State. The incidents began in Elulu community, where one person was killed, and a Bajaj motorcycle was stolen.

The attackers then attempted to rustle cattle in Agadagba community but faced resistance from local residents and vigilantes, resulting in one attacker being shot in the leg. The attackers returned to Agadagba on Saturday, killing two more residents, raising the death toll to three.

Two individuals, including the motorcycle owner and another victim from the cattle rustling incident, were injured and are receiving medical treatment. Gabriel Adole, Chairman of Ohimini LGA, confirmed the events and stated that security personnel have been deployed to the affected areas.

Governor Hyacinth Alia has directed the mobilization of community vigilantes to enhance security, emphasizing that the attackers will not be allowed to displace residents from their homes.
