Binani Joins NDC, Dickson Transfers Adamawa Structure

Aishat Dahiru Binani, a prominent female politician in Nigeria, has formally defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). The announcement was made in Abuja, where Seriake Dickson, the national leader of the NDC, entrusted the Adamawa party structure to her.

This strategic move comes nine months after her exit from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is aimed at reshaping the political landscape in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Dickson praised Binani as a formidable political figure and expressed confidence in her ability to galvanize support across Adamawa State.

He emphasized the NDC's commitment to inclusivity, particularly for women and youth, and described the party as a credible alternative for Nigerians. Binani, who was a former senator and the APC's governorship candidate in 2023, cited the NDC's policies and commitment to democratic principles as key reasons for her decision.

She pledged to significantly contribute to the party's growth at both state and national levels.
