Bode George Warns Against Judiciary Misuse in PDP Crisis

Bode George, the former Deputy National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), issued a warning against attempts to use the judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to destabilize the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. His statement on Tuesday condemned the recent developments surrounding the PDP's leadership crisis, particularly following a Supreme Court split judgment on April 30 that nullified the PDP national convention held in Ibadan on November 15-16, which had produced a leadership led by Seyi Makinde.

George criticized the actions of factions within the party, including one led by Moham Abdulrahman, which is preparing for the upcoming elections despite lacking INEC recognition. He urged the judiciary and INEC to uphold constitutional principles and warned against political manipulation that could undermine democracy.

George emphasized that the PDP's leadership cannot be manufactured overnight and called for respect for democratic processes.
