Boko Haram Sets Four Vehicles Ablaze in Yobe State

On Friday, Boko Haram insurgents infiltrated Geidam, Yobe State, setting four vehicles ablaze, including two official vehicles belonging to the local government and two trucks loaded with goods. The attack occurred around 4:30 AM while residents were asleep.

The insurgents first targeted the local government secretariat, burning a Toyota Hilux and two trucks that were parked outside, which belonged to traders attending the weekly market. The total number of vehicles destroyed in the attack was four, with no reported deaths or injuries.

Residents observed that the insurgents appeared to have changed their operational tactics, abandoning motorcycles in favor of moving on foot to avoid attracting the attention of security forces. SP Dungu Abdulkarim, a spokesperson for the Yobe State Police Command, confirmed the incident.

Efforts to obtain comments from the military regarding the situation in Geidam, which is under military operational control, were unsuccessful.
