Eniola Bolaji Wins Silver at 2026 Para Badminton

Eniola Bolaji, representing Nigeria, secured a silver medal in the SL3 women's singles final at the 2026 British & Irish Para Badminton International held at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Dublin. Bolaji lost to Japan's Shino Kawai with scores of 21-18 and 23-21.

Throughout the tournament, Bolaji demonstrated impressive form, defeating India's Neeraj (21-15, 21-3) and France's Milena Surreau (21-19, 21-13) in earlier rounds. She also overcame Turkey's Halim Yildiz (21-16, 21-7) in the quarter-finals and cruised past Australia's Celin Vinot (21-7, 21-9) in the semi-finals.

Franci Orbih, the president of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, praised Bolaji's outstanding performance and expressed confidence in her future potential. Plans are already in motion for an overseas training program to help Bolaji close the gap with Kawai, the world number one.

The support from the Nigerian Sports Commission and sponsorship from Yonex and Gig Logistics were acknowledged as crucial for Bolaji's development.
