Eniola Bolaji Wins Silver at 2026 Para Badminton Event

Eniola Bolaji, representing Nigeria, secured a silver medal in the SL3 women's singles final at the 2026 British & Irish Para Badminton International on June 28, 2026, held at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Dublin. Bolaji lost to Japan's Shino Kawai with scores of 21-18 and 23-21.

Throughout the tournament, Bolaji demonstrated impressive form, defeating India's Neeraj 2-0 (21-15, 21-3) and France's Milena Surreau 2-0 (21-19, 21-13) in earlier rounds. She continued her strong performance by overcoming Turkey's Halim Yildiz 2-0 (21-16, 21-7) in the quarter-finals and cruising past Australia’s Celin Vinot 2-0 (21-7, 21-9) in the semi-finals.

Franci Orbih, President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, praised Bolaji's outstanding performance and expressed confidence in her future potential. The federation is planning overseas training programs to help Bolaji close the gap with top competitors like Kawai.
