Boost for cooking gas as Tinubu commissions WAGL 40,000-CBM LPG vessel

Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, recently commissioned a 40,000-CBM LPG vessel named MT Iyaloja Lagos in Ulsan, South Korea. The vessel is owned by WAGL Energy Limited, a joint venture between NNPC Group and Sahara Group.

This new addition brings WAGL's total LPG vessel capacity to 6 million MT, with implications for Nigeria's gas ambition and regional energy security. The President commended WAGL for their strategic foresight and technical excellence in expanding Africa's role in global clean energy.

The vessel is expected to boost access to clean and affordable cooking gas in Nigeria and West Africa, addressing logistics challenges and increasing availability. The commissioning ceremony was attended by key industry figures, highlighting the importance of partnerships in driving energy access and economic development.
