Gas Minister Assures New WAPCo Leadership of FG’s Support

Gas Minister Ekperikpe Ekpo reassured the new leadership of the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) of the Federal Government's support in enhancing energy security in the region. During a meeting with the outgoing and incoming managing directors of WAPCo in Abuja, Ekpo emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring a steady gas supply to neighboring countries like Benin Republic, Togo, and Ghana to combat energy poverty and foster economic prosperity.

President Bola Tinubu's administration has made significant strides in advancing the gas sector, reducing gas flaring, and increasing gas availability for export and domestic consumption. Ekpo highlighted the government's priority in supplying gas to West African countries to address energy poverty and promote economic growth.

The minister also pledged support to WAPCo in achieving its vision of improving company performance and ensuring reliable gas supply to Nigeria and other regional consumers.
