Borno Governor Zulum Employs 100 Graduates to Combat Thuggery

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum announced the employment of 100 unemployed graduates from Biu Local Government Area as part of efforts to curb youth restiveness, political thuggery, and social vices in the state. The approval was made during a courtesy visit to Emir Biu, Alhaji Mustapha Mustapha II, and was communicated by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya.

The governor emphasized that the initiative aims to create employment opportunities for young people and significantly reduce thuggery since the inception of his administration. He noted that the program will also support the upcoming 2026 wet farming season by subsidizing fertilizer sales for smallholder farmers.

Zulum urged community leaders to assist in tackling drug abuse and other social issues, warning against vandalism of public infrastructure. He expressed his commitment to empowering unemployed youth, particularly those with educational backgrounds in health-related fields, English, mathematics, and physics, to prevent their engagement in political thuggery.
