Zulum Orders Employment for 17 Nurses in Biu, Borno

On Sunday, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum announced the automatic employment of 17 volunteer nurses at the General Hospital in Biu. This initiative aims to strengthen healthcare delivery in the area.

During his inspection of the ongoing construction of a 150-bed general hospital, Zulum revealed plans to upgrade the facility into a specialist hospital upon completion, which will increase its capacity to between 300 and 400 beds. He also stated that the Nigerian Army University will establish a College of Medical Sciences next year, admitting its first set of medical students.

Additionally, Zulum emphasized the construction of two new secondary schools in Biu to expand access to quality education for children. He declared the establishment of a Girls' Secondary School in Biu and highlighted the importance of moral values in education.

Zulum also announced the donation of 200 bags of rice, beans, and cooking oil to students and promised to repair the kitchen at the Nigerian Army University.
