Zulum Commits N100m to Enhance Borno Healthcare Services

On Tuesday, Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum announced a commitment of N100 million to support a book chronicling the tenure of Prof.

Ahmed Ahidjo, Chief Medical Director of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH). This announcement was made during the 9th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Association of Radiologists of Nigeria in Maiduguri.

Zulum emphasized the need for stronger collaboration with the federal government and development partners to improve healthcare delivery in Borno, particularly in light of the challenges posed by years of insurgency and recent flooding. He commissioned a Fertility Care Centre and En-Suite Maternity Complex, constructed with the intervention of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), aimed at enhancing reproductive and maternal healthcare.

Zulum praised UMTH for its significant advances in healthcare and reiterated the state government's commitment to supporting healthcare institutions while fostering cooperation with federal authorities and development agencies.
