Bournemouth Negotiates to Sign Benfica Defender Antonio Silva

Bournemouth is currently in talks to acquire Benfica defender Antonio Silva, who is being considered as a replacement for Marco Senesi. Silva, a 22-year-old Portuguese international, has established himself as a key player for Benfica since breaking into the first team in 2022.

He has participated in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and the Club World Cup, and has earned 20 caps for the Portuguese national team, including appearances in the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024. Despite his impressive track record, he was not selected by Roberto Martinez for the summer tournament.

This potential signing would mark Silva as Bournemouth's second acquisition of the summer, following the arrival of striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche. New manager Marco Rose is focused on stabilizing the team and is determined to resist offers for key players, including Alex Scott, Rayan, and Junior Kroupi.
