Bournemouth Negotiates Transfer for Benfica's Antonio Silva

Bournemouth is currently engaged in negotiations to acquire 22-year-old defender Antonio Silva from Benfica. This move is intended to replace Marco Senesi.

Silva has established himself as a key player for Benfica since breaking into the first team in 2022, featuring in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and the Club World Cup. He has also earned 20 caps for the Portugal national team, participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and is expected to be part of the squad for Euro 2024.

The talks come as Benfica prepares for further progress in their Europa League qualification, facing St. Gallen from Switzerland on July 23, with a return match scheduled for the following week in Lisbon.

If the transfer goes through, Silva would become Bournemouth's second signing of the summer, following striker Alvaro Rodriguez's arrival from Elche.
