Adeleke Campaign Alleges Plot to Declare Osun Election Inconclusive

The campaign organization for Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Accord Party governorship candidate in Osun State, has expressed alarm over an alleged scheme to declare the ongoing governorship election inconclusive. In a statement issued by Rep. Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of The Imole Campaign Council, it was claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is facing pressure to declare the election inconclusive to thwart what they termed Adeleke's "imminent victory." The campaign accused certain governors and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating this plan, labeling it as an "evil and undemocratic" act.

They reminded the INEC National Chairman of his commitment to a free, fair, and credible election. The campaign urged INEC, the APC, and security agencies to follow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to ensure the election's integrity.

They also called for enhanced security at collation centers due to alleged attempts by APC-hired thugs to disrupt the electoral process, including reports of ballot box hijacking at polling units.
