APC Grants Waiver to President Tinubu for Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has granted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a waiver ahead of the party's presidential primary election. This decision was made during the 188th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held on May 6, 2026.

According to a statement signed by Barrister Felix Morka, the APC's National Publicity Secretary, President Tinubu is deemed duly screened in accordance with the party's constitution for the purpose of participating in the upcoming primary election. The NWC noted that the President received overwhelming endorsements and votes of confidence from critical stakeholders within the party, including the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) leadership and members of the National Assembly.

The meeting also highlighted that the current President, as a leader of the party, has been duly screened and that the requirement for physical appearance at the screening committee is considered redundant and unnecessary.
