Over 500 APC Members Join Nigeria Democratic Congress

More than 500 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), significantly boosting the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. The defections were formalized on Monday in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, where NDC state officials welcomed the new members, including former party leaders and community stakeholders.

Chief Alex Ikpeazu, former Convener of the Delta Coalition for Equity, led the group, citing years of marginalization and neglect of Delta North under the APC. The defectors pledged to mobilize support for NDC's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and the party's Delta State governorship candidate, Deacon Yovwaye Chris.

NDC State Chairman Dr. Oyidobo Richmond emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilization and welcomed the new members, promising equal opportunities within the party. Deacon Yovwaye Chris and NDC Senatorial Chairman Hon. Harron Udaka also welcomed the defectors, highlighting the political significance of their move.
