Nigerian Army Reshuffles Senior Officers for Security

The Nigerian Army has implemented a major reshuffle of its senior officers, as announced in a statement issued on Saturday by Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anel. This restructuring is part of efforts to strengthen national security and improve operational effectiveness across the country.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, approved the strategic redeployment of senior officers. Major General WM Dangana has been appointed as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division, replacing Major General EF Oyinlola.

Major General EI Okoro has been appointed GOC of the 6 Division, succeeding Major General EE Emeka. Other notable appointments include Major General JR Lar as Commander of Army Headquarters Garrison and Brigadier General OM Oyekola as Acting Military Secretary.

The reshuffle also emphasizes technological advancements in addressing security threats, with Major General SA Emmanuel appointed to command the Nigerian Army Space Command. The changes reflect the Army's commitment to maintaining peace and security in Nigeria.
