Nigerian Army Redeploys 17 Generals to Combat Insecurity

The Nigerian Army has announced the redeployment of 17 generals, including Theatre Commanders and General Officers Commanding (GOCs), as part of efforts to reinvigorate the fight against terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, stated that this strategic reshuffle aims to enhance operational effectiveness and strengthen national security in response to emerging threats.

Key appointments include Major General WM Dangana as GOC of the 3 Division, replacing Major General EF Oyinlola, and Major General EI Okoro taking over the GOC position of the 6 Division from Major General EE Emekah. Other notable appointments include Brigadier General OM Oyekola as Acting Military Secretary and Brigadier General W Waziri retaining his position as Chief of Staff.

The reshuffle also includes appointments to various military institutions and commands, emphasizing the Army's commitment to maintaining peace and security across Nigeria.
