Court Grants Adeniyi Adeyemi Access to Legal Counsel

On Thursday, the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Obiora Egwatu, ordered the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to allow Adeniyi Adeyemi access to his chosen lawyers at reasonable hours. This decision came during a fundamental rights motion ex parte application filed by Adeyemi's lawyer, M.B.

Abdulazeez. Adeyemi is linked to the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and had previously been issued an arrest warrant in July by Justice Umar Mohammed due to his absence from court proceedings.

The court set September 9 for the AGF and police to respond to other relief requests made by Adeyemi, including bail and medical attention. The police have charged Adeyemi with forgery and impersonation, alleging he operated the purported agency from the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja.

The controversy surrounding the PFIPC gained national attention after Adeyemi challenged the Presidency's denial of its existence.
