Atiku Abubakar's Maryland Mansion Auctioned After FBI Search

In 2018, a luxury mansion co-owned by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and his fourth wife, Jennifer Douglas, was auctioned in Potomac, Maryland. The seven-bedroom property, located at 9731 Sorrel Ave, was initially listed for $3.25 million on January 25, 2018, and sold for a pending offer of $2.95 million on February 26, 2018.

The mansion gained notoriety in 2005 when it was searched by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) as part of a bribery scandal involving former U.S. Congressman William Jefferson.

This search placed the property under significant scrutiny, making it a topic of discussion in the elite neighborhood of Falconhurst. Atiku and Jennifer Douglas purchased the 7,131 square feet house in December 1999 for $1.75 million.

Falconhurst is known for its exclusive properties, with values ranging between $2 million and $10 million.
