Bindow Resigns from ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Senator Mohammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow, the former Governor of Adamawa State, has officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as he prepares for the 2027 general elections. Bindow submitted his resignation letter to the Chairman of the ADC in Lokuwa Ward, Mubi North Local Government Area, dated July 15, 2026, and received by the ward leadership on July 31.

In his letter, Bindow expressed that his decision was made after deep reflection on his political future and commitment to public service. He thanked the ADC for the opportunity to serve and acknowledged the party's leadership and members for their support.

Bindow, who served as governor from 2015 to 2019, indicated that changing political realities influenced his departure. Although he did not specify his next political move, speculation about a return to the APC has arisen, particularly after a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima, who hinted at Bindow's potential return with the message, “BINDOW IS COMING!”.
