Umahi Reveals Details on Mari Habila's Death

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, provided fresh details regarding the death of 26-year-old Mari Habila, who had been battling a health condition that included complaints of nosebleeds. Habila, who worked closely with Umahi for three years, was not a physiotherapist but was employed at the David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences.

She had been receiving treatment for her health issues in Turkey, with her medical expenses covered. Umahi stated that Habila had spoken to her boyfriend about her condition prior to her death.

Following her passing, there has been nationwide outrage, prompting calls for an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. The Ebonyi State Police Command has insisted on conducting an autopsy to determine the actual cause of death, with the release of her body for burial scheduled for July 17.

A statement on behalf of her family indicated that the burial ceremony has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
