Kwara Fire Service Issues Traffic Advisory After Accident

The Kwara State Fire Service issued a safety advisory on Wednesday, warning motorists to avoid Ibrahim Taiwo Road in Ilorin following a road traffic accident involving two vehicles. One vehicle was carrying multiple 50kg cooking gas cylinders, while the other was reportedly leaking petroleum, creating a significant fire and explosion risk.

The Fire Service directed motorists from Baboko, Surulere, Adewole, and surrounding areas to use alternative routes, particularly near the Stadium Complex Gate and Bekki & Sons Ltd. Personnel from the Kwara State Fire Service have been deployed to the scene to manage the situation and prevent further danger.

Motorists on the opposite side of the road were also advised to exercise caution and comply with emergency personnel instructions. The Fire Service urged the public to stay away from the accident scene to avoid obstructing emergency operations and exposing themselves to risks.

Traffic restrictions will remain until the area is deemed safe for normal vehicular movement.
