PDP Endorses G-100 Coalition Against APC for 2027 Elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially endorsed the G-100 initiative, a coalition comprising 100 opposition figures aimed at creating a unified front against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the 2027 general elections. National Chairman Kabiru Tanimu Turaki stated that the party's involvement is a direct response to the hardships faced by Nigerians under President Bola Tinubu's administration.

The PDP emphasized the necessity of a coordinated opposition effort to provide an alternative path for the country. The party confirmed its participation by sending representatives to the inaugural G-100 meeting held on August 31, 2026, demonstrating its commitment to forming a broad opposition platform capable of winning power from the ruling party.

The statement was released on September 1, 2026, by Comrade Ini Ememobong, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP's Interim National Working Committee. The G-100 initiative aims to unite opposition parties and stakeholders around a single candidate to prevent a split in the anti-APC vote.
