NUPENG Slams Oshiomhole for Anti-Workers' Comments

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) denounced former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) president, Senator Oshiomhole, over his alleged anti-workers' stance. NUPENG declared Oshiomhole a persona non grata following his comments on a strike involving the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) at Dangote Refinery.

NUPENG's President, Williams Akporeha, criticized Oshiomhole for betraying Nigerian workers and displaying ignorance of trade unionism. The union urged Oshiomhole to refrain from commenting on labor matters and retire from such discussions.

Oshiomhole's remarks sparked controversy within the labor union community, with NUPENG and PENGASSAN expressing strong disapproval of his statements.
